“One Woman, One Commission” is a grass-roots movement originating in Colorado Springs which advocates that each woman consider becoming appointed to one board or commission. This costs nothing, and takes only the monthly meeting time of 1-2 hours per month. In this way, we can eventually obtain the majority vote on our city and county commissions and boards (our local government "watchdogs") and only then can we begin to change the direction of our local government. City boards report to the City Council, and County boards report to the Board of County Commissioners.
